Are Strollers Allowed In Target? (Read This First!)

The question of taking or not taking a stroller to a grocery store is a common question asked by parents. If you haven’t done this before, you’d always feel perplexed about this subject matter.

While it is rare to find stores that don’t allow parents to come in with strollers, I have seen a few cases where parents are discouraged from doing so.

The reason for discouraging the act is not far-fetched – Some people use it as a means of shoplifting and concealing stolen items in a stroller.

Is Target one of those few stores that discourage the use of strollers inside the store? That’s what this article is based on.

Are Strollers Allowed In Target?

Yes, strollers are allowed in Target! There is no problem using your stroller in any Target outlet.

As a parent, if you want to shop for a few items in Target and you think the storage basket of a stroller can contain the items, you’d be allowed to come in with a stroller.

To be honest with you, taking care of little ones is not easy and these stores understand what it means to be hauling a stroller around with your baby. If you had a better option, you wouldn’t want to stress yourself dragging a cart and a stroller at the same time.

Therefore, just like in other grocery stores, it is totally fine to come in with a stroller and shop for whatever you want. However, on busy days such as Black Fridays, I wouldn’t go in with a stroller so as not to cause any obstructions to other shoppers.

Some folks might consider it to be disrespectful bringing a stroller to a store on busy days. So, to avoid eye-rolling, stick to using your stroller on a normal day when the crowd is not much.

Can You Go Shopping With A Stroller?

When it comes to shopping with a stroller, you need to understand that there is a limit to what your stroller can take. Most strollers have storage baskets, and what you are buying should be able to fit in the storage basket.

Normally, I always advise parents to have strollers because it is good to stroll out with your kids from time to time. Sitting indoors all day can be boring and tiring, but taking a walk with your little one in a stroller can be refreshing and exhilarating.

If you have one or two items to buy from Target or any other store, you could use the opportunity to stroll out with your baby. However, when it comes to heavy shopping, you don’t want to do that with a stroller.

So, what is the best way to go shopping with a newborn? Let’s look at this in the next subheading.

What’s The Best Way To Go Shopping With A Newborn?

The best way to go shopping with an infant is to go with either your husband or anyone available and with an infant car seat. Shopping with a baby can be really stressful and I dislike seeing moms struggle with strollers and carts.

For heavy shopping, all you guys need to do is attach the infant car seat to one cart while you fill another cart with items. However, you should remember to use a cart cover and some sort of cushion to give your child comfort while you shop.

Your husband can be in charge of the cart with the items, while you focus on hauling your child around in the other cart. If you are going to the shopping mall with two kids, you can babywear one and put the other in the cart. Better still, you can get a double stroller for your kids.

If you are going with three kids, it is very likely that the eldest child would be around 5 years old or thereabout, which means he/she can walk with the squad while shopping.
